Cosmedics is a medical and cosmetic clinic in Blanchardstown, founded by Dr Mukesh Lalloo in 2003.
Dr Mukesh Lalloo
Dr Lalloo has practised aesthetic medicine in Ireland for over twenty years and established Cosmedics Clinic in 2003.
He is a graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and holds a fellowship in surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. He has also been a fully qualified General Practitioner for many years, which matters more than it might sound. A working knowledge of general medicine is what allows a treatment plan to take your medical history and your medications properly into account, rather than looking at a face in isolation — and it is what makes it straightforward to say when a treatment is not the right answer.
He is an educator and trainer with Menarini Pharma, specialising in thread lift procedures, and has appeared on the Late Late Show and TV3.
What a first consultation involves
It lasts around thirty minutes and nothing is carried out on the day unless you want it to be.
Dr Lalloo will ask what is bothering you, in your own words, before suggesting anything. He will look at your face at rest and in movement, because much of what people dislike only appears when the face moves. He will go through your medical history and any medicines you take.
You will then hear what the options are, what each one actually involves, what it costs, how long it lasts and what the recovery looks like — including the option of doing nothing. If something is not appropriate for you, he will say so and explain why.
Some treatments at the clinic are prescription treatments. Those can only be provided after a consultation, and only where Dr Lalloo judges them clinically appropriate for you. They cannot be requested or bought directly, which is why we cannot quote for one over email.
You are welcome to leave and think about it. Most people do.
How treatment is approached
The approach is deliberately conservative — careful assessment, modest dosing, and results meant to look like you rather than like a treatment. Where a course of treatment makes more sense than a single appointment, you will be told that at the outset rather than discovering it later.
The clinic
Cosmedics has been in Blanchardstown since 2003. It is a single-doctor clinic by choice: the person who assesses you at the consultation is the person who carries out the treatment, and the person you see if you have a question afterwards.
