IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)

If you're looking for a non-invasive solution to improve your skin’s texture, tone, and overall appearance, IPL is a well-established treatment option. It offers a quick, generally well-tolerated way to tackle multiple skin concerns with minimal downtime

What is IPL?

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) therapy uses broad-spectrum light to target specific skin conditions. Unlike laser treatments, which use a single wavelength of light, IPL emits multiple wavelengths, allowing it to penetrate deep into the skin and address various concerns simultaneously. The light energy is absorbed by the pigment in your skin (such as melanin or haemoglobin), which heats and breaks down unwanted cells, promoting the natural regeneration of healthy skin.

Benefits of IPL Treatment

How IPL Works

During the treatment, a handheld device emits pulses of light onto the treatment area. The light penetrates the skin and is absorbed by pigments (melanin in age spots or blood vessels in spider veins), breaking them down. Your body then naturally removes the damaged cells, revealing fresher, younger-looking skin.

Aftercare and Results

For optimal results, you may require multiple sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Dr Lalloo will create a treatment plan based on your skin condition and the goals you want to achieve. It’s important to avoid direct sun exposure and wear sunscreen to protect your skin after the procedure, as it will be more sensitive to UV rays.
